Privacy Policy — Barakah Stories

Last updated: 19 September 2026

Barakah Stories is made by Klay Creative Lab LLC. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: the app works fully without an account and keeps everything on your device. If you choose to sign up, we store only your email, your saved posts and your reading progress, so they follow you between devices — and you can delete all of it at any time.

What we collect

We do not use analytics, we do not use advertising, and we do not sell or share personal information with anyone.

You can use the whole app without an account. If you never sign up, everything you create — your story designs, saved posts, recently opened posts, your language, theme and prayer settings, and your Quran reading progress — is stored only on your device, in the app's own storage, and is removed when you uninstall the app. We receive nothing.

If you create an account

Signing up is optional. It exists for one purpose: keeping your saved posts and Quran reading progress available on more than one device.

If you do sign up, we store:

Your password is never visible to us. Accounts run on Supabase, which processes this data on our behalf as our hosting provider; it is not sold or shared with anyone else. Your data is protected so that only your own account can read or write it.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time, and doing so permanently removes your account, your synced posts and your synced reading progress. It cannot be undone.

Posts saved on your device stay on your device; uninstalling the app removes those.

Location

If you open the Prayer screen and choose to use your location, the app asks for location permission. Your coordinates are used to calculate prayer times and the direction of the Qibla, which happens entirely on your device, and to look up the name of your city or area so the screen can show where the times apply.

That place-name lookup is performed by your phone's own operating system service (Google Play Services on Android, Apple's location services on iOS). Your coordinates are passed to that service by the operating system, and its own privacy policy applies to that lookup. We never receive your coordinates, and we do not store or transmit them anywhere else.

Location is only ever read while the app is open and you are using it. The app does not track you in the background. You can refuse the permission and still use the app — choose one of the built-in cities instead, and no location data is read at all. You can revoke the permission at any time in your device settings.

The app also reads your phone's compass sensor to rotate the Qibla dial. That reading stays on the device.

Internet connections the app makes

The app needs the internet for one thing: downloading the hadith collections (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim) the first time you open the Hadith section. They are fetched from the public jsDelivr content delivery network and then cached on your device so they work offline afterwards.

As with visiting any website, the network that serves those files receives your device's IP address in order to send a response. We do not control that network and we do not receive any information about the request.

The Quran text and translation are bundled inside the app and require no connection.

Daily reminder

You can ask the app to remind you once a day that a new selection of cards is ready, and choose what time it arrives. If you do, the reminder is scheduled by your phone, on your phone. There is no server involved, we are not told that you turned it on, and no notification is ever sent to you by us. Turning it off, or changing the time, is in Me → Daily reminder, and you can also switch the app's notifications off in your phone settings.

Sharing your stories

When you share a story, the app creates an image on your device and hands it to your phone's normal share sheet. You choose where it goes — WhatsApp, another app, or your photo library. The image never passes through us.

Children

The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them. There is nothing to collect.

Security

Because your content stays on your device, its security is governed by your device's own protections, such as your screen lock and device encryption.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app adds features that handle data differently, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
